Women In Business – Are You Avoiding Success?

Are you avoiding success? Sounds almost absorb doesn’t it – avoiding success, why would anyone do that?

Here’s something to think about:

1. You start to work on a task that will take your business forward and find yourself getting distracted by something that is not as important.

2. Even if you don’t mean to, you find yourself playing computer games instead of focusing on what is important.

3. You’re just not motivated to work on moneymaking activities.

4. You suddenly begin making excuses for not getting things done or keeping up with your day-to-day business-building activities.

5. You start to unconsciously isolate yourself from your support network.

Do any of those scenarios of “success avoidance” sound familiar to you?

If you answered, “yes,” then there may be something about achieving success that has you feeling uncomfortable.

Here is a definition of success found on TheFreeDictionary.com:
The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted; the gaining of fame or prosperity.

Would you agree with that definition?

Unconsciously, are you finding success is more of a burden than a joy? If yes, then the big question becomes, why?

Here’s what I suggest: It is time to do some soul-searching.

  • What exactly does success mean to you?
  • When you think about achieving success, what words come to mind?
  • Are you experiencing any negative emotions? If yes, what are the emotions?

If you’re not succeeding the way you know you should or know you could, then it is time to ask yourself if you are avoiding success. You have the power to change what isn’t working into something more positive and productive. Change begins one positive step at a time.
