Spring Success Habits for Entrepreneurial Women

The sun is shinning, the flowers are beginning to bloom  – it is spring! It’s also time for women in business to fine-tune our spring business success habits. Take a good look at your business, your office and income, is it time for a springtime success habits checkup?

1. Revisit your January, February and March goals.

Hopefully, you set some specific goals to kick off the New Year. Are you on track for achieving these goals? Make time to study them carefully and figure out what should be reworked, eliminated and expanded. How well you are staying on track is an indication of how well you are staying focused on keeping the important business-building activities, important.

Figure out if what was important in January is still as important in April, May and June. Do you need to step up the pace to achieve your six to twelve month goals?

2. Plan ahead for the summer vacations and other activities and then organize your time wisely.

It’s not too early to begin thinking ahead to summer. Summer can be a slower time for some businesses. If you plan to take time off, then schedule how you will generate income even when you aren’t working as many hours or days per month.

How about taking out your planning calendar and spacing out what you want to accomplish and by when – leave yourself plenty of time for relaxing and rejuvenating.

3. Analyze what’s been successful during the past 3 months and what you’d like to improve.

Wisdom is about knowing when to change what’s not working into something more productive. Motivational speaker Les Brown says, “If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.”

Are you totally satisfied with what you’ve produced so far this year? If the answer is “yes,” congratulations! If the answer is no, it’s time to figure what needs to be changed and then begin making the desired changes.

4. Begin your “wish list” for April, May and June.

Now is the time to start dreaming BIG for the next few months. What do you want to accomplish during the next three months?

Start a spring wish list of all the possibilities for April, May and June. It’s your list so dream big and bold – focus on those things that will take you forward in positive self-satisfying ways during the coming months.

5. Don’t pile it – file it!

Go through those piles of receipts, papers and files on the desk and floor and either file them or throw them out. I find that if I go through my files and file cabinet quarterly, my filing system stays a whole lot more organized and, I can actually find things quickly!

Planning is essential to running a successful business, especially if you are a solo entrepreneur. Taking a couple of hours this week to sit down and figure out what activities are attracting new clients/customers and which are creating income is a great business-building tool. Remember, spring is the time to plant your seeds of success and go for your goals. Have fun growing your business!
