Prosperity Is A Choice

Prosperity is a choice. You can start creating your prosperity anytime, no matter your current circumstances, no matter what’s happened in the past.

When you first choose to alter your circumstances and become more prosperous, you’ll be making your life more difficult. Without question, it’s harder to read a book than it is to watch TV or go to bed. That’s just the way life is.

In the movie A League of Their Own, Geena Davis, playing the role of the star catcher on history’s first all female professional baseball team, decides to quit just before the championship series.

Tom Hanks, playing the part of her manager, asks why.

“I didn’t know it would be this hard,” she replies.

“Of course it’s hard,” he says, “If it wasn’t hard everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.”

In the beginning, at least, expect it to be difficult, much more so than it would be if you just left things as they are.

After a while, things change. What at first took real effort and discipline in time becomes routine. The hard things get easier. The more prosperous you become, the less effort is required to stay that way.
