How To Clear Your Mind

A clear mind can make clear and empowered decisions. There are times when we all just need to step back, take some quiet reflective time to clear and calm our mind.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Take a long walk surrounded by the beauty of nature. The hours around dusk and dawn can be especially relaxing and inspiring. Breathe in the fresh air. As you’re walking make time to inhale clarity and allow yourself to completely exhale stress and confusion.

2. Listen to soothing music. Pick your favorite chair, sit back, relax, close your eyes and absorb the peace and tranquility.

3. Relax with a guided visualization or meditation. Use this time to visualize, relax and focus on an empowered future. My favorite guided visualization is Creative Visualization by Shakti Gwain. Make time morning or evening to relax and meditate mind, body and spirit.

4. Focus on the positives in your life. Sit down with your favorite beverage, some relaxing music and create an entire page filled with the positive people, opportunities and situations currently in your life. Concentrate your energy on the positives already in your life and how you can build upon them.

5. Create a gratitude journal. It’s difficult to have a cluttered or negative mind when you focus on the things for which you can be grateful. Wallace Wattles in the classic The Science of Getting Rich said, “The exercise of gratitude will never fail to strengthen your faith and renew your purpose.”
